2024 Season Recap

Spring 2024:     5 - 12

--Third Place finish at KASC Tournament

The 2024 spring season can best be described as a rebuilding season.  Having lost a majority of its upper classmen, the KC East Lions started the season with one senior, and two juniors.  The first half of the season was challenging as the Lions took the field against top competition in both Kansas and Missouri.  Despite the tough schedule, this young Lions team continued to grow each day.  Over the last 8 games, the varsity team went 4-4.  This included two wins during the state championship tournament, where the Lions finished 3rd.

Statistically, this young Lions team was comparable to some of the top talent in both Kansas and Missouri.  Lions players placed in the top 100 of several major statistical categories.

Stolen Base

4 players in the top 100 for Kansas

6 players in the top 100 for Missouri

Batting Average

3 players in the top 100 for Missouri

Slugging

Every team record was broken or challenged this year.

What is one measure of success?  Perseverance.  Despite the challenges these boys faced, they continued to work hard and built a great foundation for future years to come.
